1. GARLIC
Garlic is a plant that has small sections called cloves. It has a strong smell and taste which is used in flavoring food. You can regrow this into more cloves from a piece of clove. Here’s how:
- Save a clove and do not feel it making its skin stay
- Wait for the clove to sprout
- Once it has sprouted, place it in a cup of water
- Put the cup outside or in a window sill
- Replant the sprouts (once it reach some inches) in a large pot with fertile soil
- Leaves will appear in a few days but pick the garlic when the leaves turn brown or if it fell already
2. CELERY
Celery is a European herb with leafstalks eaten raw or cooked. Regrow this plant (using the bottom part of the celery) with these easy steps:
- Cut off the base part and put in a bowl
- The bowl is then placed under direct sunlight
- Once leaves appear, replant it in a healthy soil
- This time it is put in place with little sunlight exposure
3. BASIL
Basil is an herb with a sweet smell which is usually used in cooking. You can replant this by:
Putting 3-4 inches of basil clippings with stems in a glass of water
- The glass is then exposed to direct sunlight
- Plant it in a pot of soil once you see two inches of root
- Water it regularly
4. CARROTS
Carrot is a long orange root plant which can be eaten as a vegetable. When replanted, it might taste bitter that is why vinegar and garlic can be used to make them sweet when added to salads. You can replant these by:
- Placing them on a plate or dish with water
- Put the dish in a well-lit room or in the window sill
5. ASPARAGUS
Asparagus is a plant with long green stems and tiny leaves at one end that is cooked and eaten as a vegetable. It is one of most commonly known vegetable which can be in fact keep on producing up to 25 years. You can replant this by:
- Use the crowns since the seeds grow slower
- Simply put it in a pot with a healthy soil
- Water it regularly
