How to Treat Anxiety and Stress With the Japanese Shiatsu

Stress and anxiety are present anywhere and who wouldn’t love to live in a stress-free environment or calm atmosphere?
And that longing moment for a peace of mind will come anyway. There are different methods and approaches in managing stress and anxiety and one of which is the so-called Japanese Shiatsu.
Japanese Shiatsu is a massage method applied for years already.
This method is known to relax the body and release tension can cope up with stress and anxiety. The term “shiatsu” originated from a Japanese term which means “finger pressure.” This means that this approach is about pressure application on certain critical parts of the body.
Japanese shiatsu has 2 techniques which are the stress reduction technique and the anxiety reduction technique.
STRESS REDUCTION TECHNIQUE

Procedures:
1. Place both hands on your head and the fingers placed on the scalp with the thumbs touching against your temples.
2. Simply apply pressure on your temples and just move your thumbs in a circular manner that comes alongside breathing deeply from 5 to 10 minutes.
3. For best results, do this twice or thrice daily to relieve you from stress.
ANXIETY REDUCTION TECHNIQUE

Procedures:
1. Apply pressure in the middle of your left palm using the thumb of your right hand and leave it there for 30-60 seconds.
2. Using the fingers of your right hand, pull and stretch all four fingers of your left hand then release after 5 seconds.
3. Using your right thumb, stroke the inside of your entire left palm for 30-60 seconds.
4. Finally, the hand is flipped over and in a circular movement, massage the top of your wrist for 30 seconds to a minute.
5. Repeat steps 1-4 but this time massaging the other hand which is the right hand. Do this twice daily for anxiety management.
