Here’s The Reason Why You Should Put a Coin In The Freezer Every time You Go Out For For A Long Time

When you are planning for a vacation and got to leave your house for a long period of time and there is no one left to manage your house, it is best to make sure that everything you left is totally secured and in good condition.
In this situation, have you ever experience that of your frozen foods stocked in your fridge are no longer frozen or even in the state of rotting after coming home from a long vacation or out of town? There are different scenarios that might present such events that all of your food stashed in the freezer getting unfrozen due to power failure.
The thing about this is that the thawed food from fridge due to the power failure could eventually get frozen again after the power line fixes up. This will be a difficult position for some people to notice due to the fact that spoiled food got frozen and only realize this once the food is set to be cooked.
Well, there’s one situation where a Facebook user shared a very brilliant idea on how to preserve your food in the fridge even if your out for a vacation.
Sheila Pulanco Russel had this tip for us in order to know what the current state our food is in. She only used 3 different tools that could be seen at homes such as a mug, a coin, and tap water. She learned this trick after an evacuation from their home due to Hurricane Matthews.
Her shared post on Facebook:
“For those of you that are evacuating from the coast, I just heard a great tip. It’s called the one cup tip. You put a cup of water in your freezer. Freeze it solid and then put a quarter on top of it and leave it in your freezer. That way when you come back after you’ve been evacuated you can tell if your food went completely bad and just refroze or if it stayed frozen while you were gone.

If the quarter has fallen to the bottom of the cup that means all the food defrosted and you should throw it out. But if the quarter is either on the top or in the middle of the cup then your food may still be ok. It would also be a great idea to leave this in your freezer all the time and if you lose power for any reason you will have this tip to fall back on.

If you don’t feel good about your food, just throw it out. The main thing is for all to be safe. Please SHARE this on your page.”
This is an efficient and inexpensive way of finding out if your food was rotten or not. Share this trick to everyone!
