4 Early Signs of Toxic Kidneys That You Should Not Ignore

Kidneys are bean-shaped organs that come in a pair lying behind the peritoneum in a mass of fatty tissue which functions in the excretion of waste products of metabolism in humans. It consists chiefly of nephrons wherein urine is secreted, collected, and discharged into the main cavity then conveyed by the ureter to the bladder.
These organs don’t rest and works all day and all night. It is essential in maintaining the body’s internal homeostasis (balance) that is critical for one’s health. The amount of fluid within the body is regulated by the kidneys and urine is produced as a by-product of the elimination of toxic and wastes.
With the knowledge of what kidneys are and its functions, it is also important to know the early signs that indicate that your kidneys are experiencing toxicity:
1. FREQUENCY IN URINATING

Water intake plays a role in this but it doesn’t mean you have to ignore your urine frequency. Polyuria or excessive secretion of urine is experienced since the kidneys have too much toxin and need to get eliminated.
2. UNUSUAL VISIBLE CHANGES IN URINE

If you see that your urine has the presence of pus or looks frothy, you should get it checked to know the underlying cause. This indicates toxic kidneys.
3. URINE COLOR CHANGES

A healthy urine has a pale yellow color. If you see a different color beyond this then there is something wrong with your kidneys. Colors such as black, brown, orange, red or pink are abnormal and you should get this checked.
4. UNUSUAL ODOR OF URINE

Urine odor depends on a person’s lifestyle such as their daily activities and the food they eat. Most of the time, the usual smell of urine which is considered normal is like a “musty-ammonia odor” but if an odor is fishy or sweet, then this is probably a sign of an underlying cause more than the toxicity of the kidneys.
