3. Never drink alcohol. Drinking during your pregnancy can cause serious harm to your baby. 
4. Don’t allow yourself to be exposed to secondhand smoke or never smoke while you’re in pregnancy period to avoid any bad effect on your pregnancy. Smoking while Pregnant can cause a baby to be born too early or to have low birth weight making more likely the baby will be sick. 
5. Exercise daily to keep your body in good condition, It is important for you to keep your body healthy and in shape to keep a healthy pregnancy and it also reduces your stress to keep your mind healthy and active. Take Pregnancy exercise class or frequently walk at least 20 to 30 minutes in cool, shaded areas or indoors in order to prevent overheating. 
6. Get enough sleep at least 8 hours, if you are having disturbance while sleeping or a hard time to take a nap see your physician for advice. 
7. Avoid wearing uncomfortable shoes and be reminded that always put your feet up several times a day to prevent fatigue and swelling of feet, legs, and ankles. 
8. If you are riding a motorcycle, continue wearing a safety belt. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the shoulder portion of the restraint should be positioned over the collarbone. The lap portion should be placed under the abdomen as low as possible on the hips and across the upper thighs, never above the abdomen. 
9. Never take over the counter medication or herbal remedies without consulting your doctor or midwife. It is important your doctor first before taking any medication to avoid any pregnancy problems.
