Some foods are great for stress relief and some can actually enhance the effects of stress. Take a look some of the food you should be eating.



Green tea is always the stress fighter.

Green tea is loaded with antioxidants that are known to fight mood disorders. It has a calming effect on the mind and body. People that are said to consume green tea everyday is healthier and has lesser chances of getting stressed. If you are not a fan of green tea, black tea will work as well.



Blueberries, Oranges and Avocado

Blueberries are full of antioxidants that are known to relieve stress. Blueberries are known to help onset depression, mood disorders and insomnia. Oranges are loaded with Vitamin C that can boost immunity to counter the effect of stress in the body. It also fights off free radicals that are harmful to the body that is released when you are stressed. Avocados contain minerals, vitamins, fiber, potassium and protein. All these contents help regulate or remove stress hormones. Removing stress hormones keep the brain and nerve cells healthy.



Salmon

Salmon is known for its health benefits and is a great source of protein. Did you know it can also help regulate stress? Salmons have ingredients that can boost the brain’s serotonin levels that is essential for relieving stress. Eating a serving of salmon weekly is perfect for a healthy lifestyle. You can also try out other healthy oil fishes like tuna, sardines and mackerel.


Better switch to brown rice.

Brown rice is a much healthier alternative to white rice because of its nutritional values. Brown rice have high amounts of B vitamins. The body is more likely to be less stressed if it has enough amounts of B vitamins in the system. B vitamins are also known to relieve mood disorders. Almonds are a must have for healthy eaters. It is packed full of vitamins, healthy oils and minerals. It can be eaten as a snack or be used in baking. Almonds are known to boost energy, control stress hormone levels and abate blood pressure levels.
